I’m a UK SEO consultant – a freelance SEO specialist, I no longer work as part of an SEO company / agency.

But what does this mean to you, and what’s the difference between working with a freelance search engine optimisation consultant, and a firm / agency.

The first thing I’ll say – is that although I class myself as a UK SEO consultant, as I’m based in the UK (Cheshire, close to Manchester, Chester, Macclesfield, Knutsford & Stockport) but I do have clients outside of the UK.

I can work with you regardless of where you’re based – UK, US, Australia, France, Belgium, Cyprus, Spain, Newzlealand  – in fact I do work with clients in quite a number of other countries as well as UK.

The major difference between working with a freelance self employed SEO consultant & an agency / company, is that usually you’ll find the services of a freelancer are more flexible, and more affordable – and more well suited to small business.

Medium, large & enterprise level  companies wouldn’t usually use a freelance SEO, larger companies tend to prefer working with companies rather than freelancers.

But if you’re a small business, a start up business or a home based business – then you’ll more than likely find that you have a better experience, and a more flexible service from a freelance SEO consultant than from an SEO firm.

For example – I don’t require contracts, whereas SEO companies will want you to sign up for a 12 month contract, this means with me there’s no risk of being stuck with an outgoing if you don’t feel you’re getting a decent return on investment, you have the flexibility to stop at any time.

The reason freelance SEO consultants usually offer a more affordable service, is that we don’t have admin staff, sales teams, large offices, company cars, christmas parties, bonuses, etc.,  taking a chunk of the money we charge for our services – we usually have little overheads other than the norm, office space and so on.

It’s a budget thing also – if you have a budget of a few hundred pounds a month to initially put into SEO – many SEO companies won’t even entertain this level of budget, in fact there are SEO companies out there who have quite large minimums, in the region of a few thousand pounds per month, not a few hundred… if you’re a small business you more than likely just can’t risk that kind of investment initially – and it may be completely over the top for your market anyway – it may be that actually given the competitiveness of your market, you only need to spend in the region of £100 – £200 per month to rank on page one for your important search terms – in which cased spending hundreds or thousands per month would be complete overkill.

So, if you think your business would be a good fit for working with a UK SEO consultant, (even if you’re not in the UK) then drop me an email – or visit my main SEO website.
